Here is room twelve doing some science. We are learning about Potential energy and Kinetic energy. Mr Peacock used a Jack in the Box to show the way the spring in jack stores the energy (potential energy).  When the spring is released the potential energy is converted into kinetic energy (movement).

Mr Peacock also used a see-saw to convert gravitational potential energy into kinetic energy.  The beans really did move (kinetic energy) when his weight (potential energy) was released.  Our next step is to make our cars go faster than they usually go by reducing the friction drag and pressure drag so that lots of the potential energy our cars have at the top of the track is converted into kinetic energy (movement down the track).
