In the video the Kapa Haka group are singing Ka poi e that we will sing tomorrow in Poly Fest.

Science Testing

We are testing our drag cars for science. At the end of the term all the of the seniors are having a drag race. We are learning about friction drag, preserve drag, potential and kinetic energy.  At the top of the track the car has potential energy and at the bottom of the track the car has changed all the potential energy into kinetic energy (speed).

Maths number sentences

Number of the day today is 49.  My number sentence is:

If I have 59 horses and give 10 away how many do I have left?

Quick 10 and Handwriting

Today in our Quick Ten writing.   We have to use the ideas of  hear, feel and say to think about the writing.  The photo is funny.   My story is:

I was out riding the wind in my hair when suddenly a big black dog came out of no where and I got backed off in to the mud.   I called out "Image, here girl please come back to me".   It was no use.  I was stuck in the gooey, slimy muddy water.  All I could hear was a howling dog and a ponies' calls of fear.   When I first heard the whinnying I thought I was imagining things.   Image was in danger!

Flexi Time

Flexi time is literary work where we do things like handwriting, spelling, Xtra math (we do xtra math all day ) reading activities and writing tasks.  In the photo and the video I am doing my reading activity.   The book we are reading is called "Rat's Nest".   I have done my handwriting, spelling and Xtra maths.

Quick Ten

In Quick Ten we have a photo or video and ten minutes to write about it.   I have done my Quick Ten here it is:

On day Dr Sam was at a barn call checking up on Little Anne and when he got home he found a kitten on his door step.   He looked into the kitten's eyes and it looked hurt in a way.   He decided to give the kitten a check up.

Balloon Bump

Today we are playing balloon bump.  The team in the video took 21 seconds before the balloon touched the ground.  The best team took one minute and 34 seconds.  My team only lasted four seconds until the balloon touched the ground!

First Handwriting

Today we are doing handwriting the letter is A and the sentence is Abi, Anthony, Anna and Ashleigh always eat apples and apricots.

Mr P adds: We are learning routines of setting out our book, expectations and setting a high personal standard.  From here our handwriting should always look like this or better.
