Today we played our first PAL's game for Term 4.  Our PALs are Logan M and Kaleb D.  The games that we played are Musical Statues and Silent Ball.    Kaeyla was in for Musical Statues. Then for Silent Ball, I was the Judge, that means that I was judging whether it was a good or bad throw or a good or bad catch whenever someone dropped the ball.

Our Book, Wonder.

At the moment, we are reading the Julian Chapter from Wonder by RJ Palacio.   Julian has been writing mean notes like: YO, DARTH HIDEOUS. YOU'RE SO UGLY YOU SHOULD WEAR A MASK EVERY DAY! and: I H8 YOU FREAK! and the last one: I BET YOUR MOTHER WISHES YOU' D NEVER BEEN BORN. YOU SHOULD DO EVERYBODY A FAVOR— AND DIE. .

Mr Tushman (the Dean) found out about those notes and Dr Janson (the Headmaster) ends up calling a meeting with Julian's Mum, his Dad, Mr Tushman, Dr Janson himself and, of course, Julian.

During the meeting, there was a lot of yelling, fighting, shouting and arguments.  In the end, Julian gets suspended from Beecher Prep for THREE Weeks!!! Which means Julian misses the Nature Retreat that he'd been really looking forward to.

Game

Today after lunch we had Mrs Bisset. After we cleaned up the classroom and stacked the chairs, we got to play a game of 21. It is a quick, fun game and it is a good listening game, as well.

Hui Whanau me Te Reo.

Easy Blog Photo

Every single morning, we have Hui Whanau me Te Reo (Class meeting and Maori Language).

First, we read the date, first in Maori then in English.  Next, on Mondays, we read out who won the Dojo points, who is Blogger for that day and the other whiteboard stickies (notices for the day).

On Mondays Mr P puts out self-directed checklists, directed checklists and Spelling ( Level 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7) for us to collect before school starts.  Then, we say a karakia.   These are some of them: Ma te Atua and Homai te kaha.   Sometimes, Mr Peacock plays his guitar to this song : E Hara I Te Mea, and we sing along to it. Next we record the roll and read the daily notices.
