The 3D Printer!
This is a three dimensional printer. Mrs McDonald purchased the 3D printer before she left our school. When we first got it the Room 12 maths class made dice using the printer. It hasn't been used for a while.
We started using it again in the 2016 maths class to print out 3D pentominoes. Pentominoes are a 2D shape made up of five squares. So we decided to make 3D pentominoes with building blocks (cubes) then we drew them down on to some isometric dotted paper to help us draw cubes in 3D.
Mr P gave us a challenge to find and draw all 12 flat pentominoes. Then after we find and draw them we have to go to a website called Tinkercad. On Tinkercad we can go to a menu and select a cube then we get to put the cubes together to create our shapes. I can't wait till I get to print out one of my pentominoes.
