Library

At the library Mr Peacock or a techno kid scans the books from last week so you can get a new book out.  In the photo Charlotte has chosen a very quiet corner to sit down and read her book.  The library is always quiet ... well not all the time.

Class Photos

Today Elmgrove school had photos taken in the Juniors Playground by McRobie Photography. We had a class photo and a single photo too.  Some people even got a phone with their family or siblings. 📸

Wonder

This is Wonder, the story we have been reading for months now. This chapter is sad when August's dog Daisy went to the vet because she was very sick and old. Then mum and dad came home but something was missing, Daisy was put down. Then August went to his room and looked at his mountain of toys and teddies. He climbed into the mountain and cried. We felt upset reading this chapter because it reminded us of our pets.

Cross Country

Today is Cross Country we have been practising for a while now. We had to do 2 laps of the court and stretches before we did 2 laps of the block. It was not fun at all, after we did 2 laps I felt like I was about to collapse. The people that were running are year 4, 5 and 6. In the photo there are 2 year 4 girls running. The schools that are running are Elmgrove, East Taieri and Silverstream.

Aneka Stevenson came 6th In the Year 4 Girls Race.

Year 4 boys race was good because Elmgrove came 1st. Liam Cuddie won the race and Levi Ellis came 2nd.

Charlotte Hodge came 3nd and Kate Coates came 5th in year 5 girls.

Josh Morrison came 5th in year 5 boys.

In the year 6 girls race Christie Palmer came in 9th place.

You will never believe it but in the year 6 boys race Jacoby Hooper came 7th, Luke Evans came 8th, Josh Jones came 9th and Logan Ramage came 10th.

Focus Group

This Morning at focus writing group we all recorded our city story in the radio station which is in the library at school. First Chris recorded his then Bella, Jaxan, Anna, Kane and Anthony. In the picture is Jaxan's writing and the video is Jaxan talking into the microphone. It was really fun but when you are working into the room it feels like you've got butterflies in your stomach.

Maths

At maths we have groups that Mrs Lynch takes the groups called: pears, bananas, apples and kiwifruits.  Mrs Lynch takes two groups everyday.  Also we do a number of the day.  Number of the day is a big chart of questions that we have to answer.

Focus Group

In the morning we have a focus group with Mr Peacock. A focus group is for the children that find writing difficult. We are using Conjunctions. Conjunctions are words that you can put in between two sentence to make one sentence.

Science

At science we tested if the candle would blow out.  We had a jar in front of the candle.  It blew out.

Sports Shed

Bella and Jessie are on sport shed today.  Sport shed is where the PALS give children sports equipment from our sports she.   Two PALS go into the sport shed on the days that their meant to then one person writes down the children's name, class and the piece of equipment they got. And the other person gets the equipment and gives it to them.

Champions

This is Noah playing a game at Champions. Here are the rules to the game. You need two people, two popsicle sticks and 12 dice.  You put the popsicle stick in your mouth and you have to stack six dice on the the end of you popsicle stick but you're not allowed to use your hands. You only have 60 seconds/one minute to get them all on and the person who finishes wins!!  We also played a game with two balloons each we had to keep them both above the group using our common sense and movement of our bodies.  We also had 60 seconds/one minute for this as well. We did three rounds of this game it was fun!!

Assembly Practice

We are practising for assembly. We are singing rock and roll medley and playing the ukulele.

CRE - Christian Religious Education

We are playing MR.SQUIRTY. The rules are you aren't allowed to say yes,no or repeat the same word or you get sprayed with water. If someone answers heaps of questions the person asking the questions gets sprayed with water. Sophie got to spray the person who asked the questions.

Lunch Time

It is so CRAZY at lunchtime. As you can see people are on scooters and pogo sticks.
