Quick 10
At the start of the day the senior syndicate does Quick 10. First the syndicate meets in room 11 to discuss the picture we are writing about today. A the moment the Olympics are on and Lisa Carrington won two medals (gold and bronze) and she carried the NZ flag at the Rio Olympics closing ceremony and around her neck is a gold medal. Our picture today is LIsa Carrington with the gold medal around her neck and carrying the flag. While we are writing Mrs Williams comes around and gives as Class Dojo points for being on task. At the end of each week Mr P adds up all of our dojo points and the top six point scorers get a bar of chocolate.

Matariki Activity
This afternoon we have Mrs Baxter and she has brought a Matariki activity. The activity is a art one. Here is a photo of what we are doing. We are allowed to use felts, colouring pencils and pastesl but when we do the waves and the background we can use different colours. The people and the waka had to be black, red but the skin could be white brown and black. Here is a photo of my work.

Game
Today we are playing three games with room 10 and room 9. The first game is long ball, the second game is stopball and the last game is non-stop cricket. Today I am playing long ball.
How to play: First you hit the ball if you are a batter and then you have to run to the end of the field. The fielding team try to hit you with the ball but if the catch the ball then you are out!
In the photo Anna is ready to hit the ball and RUN! Sadly I got out on my run but I think I did a good job!

Story Teller - Andrew Wright
Today we have a storyteller visiting. His grandmother, grandad and his mum were all blind and he got a pudding bowl haircut. Later in the story he stole plums from a giant plum tree then he jumped over two fences and ran over the big hill. Next he fell and landed on the plums. He needed glasses and he got all the letters on the eye testing chart right because his new glasses were "milk bottles".
